This series contains 3 works that are all November 2020 remakes of previous designs originally designed between 2019 and 2020.
"Juntxs Superamos" was first created in September 2019. It was originally in English and read: "United under our shared oppression, liberation is possible". "Juntxs Superamos" translates to "Together we overcome", essentially saying a condensed version of the original message but now in Spanish. The bands wrapping around the world in the graphic overlap to form a letter A, again showing how connections made across the world, near and far, can help us overcome our oppression and liberate ourselves through Anarchy (despite whatever I now may or may not feel about the word and all that comes with it).
"Build Community" in its first iteration was completed in June 2019. Containing the same image with differently formatted text, the graphic shows people working together in the background to bring down a monument to capitalism, signifying a collaborative effort to destroy capitalism and burn down the destructive systems that prop it up. In the front, there are people gathering and tending to some newly planted plants, showing the cultivation of a new world, and also just planting some plants because they're cool.
"Reclaim & Redistribute" was originally designed around early April 2020 when the US federal stay-at-home order was just put into place due to COVID-19. It was created with the intended message of reclaiming essential goods people need (and just cool things people want) and distributing them to those who need (or want) them. This was a response to widespread price hiking on many essential items at the time, the more well-known ones being sanitation products. Things we want and need are already hard enough to come by for many people in this country, making them even more inaccessible to us just to fatten up a few peoples' pockets (things costing money in general is already just to make a few peoples' pockets fatter anyways but you know...) should be unacceptable.
