This illustration series was created after I had found some pieces of really short and wide paper. The paper thickness and texture was really nice so I decided to make a few miniature drawings to commemorate some good times outside before the pandemic made the outside illegal. Meeting up with homies at beachside cliffs to smoke, with my partner at parks with beautiful skyline views to enjoy the evening, and with homies to put up some stickers and tags were some ways I would pass many nights during the year before the lockdown came into full effect. Hopefully we can go back to that again.
These drawings led me to start making drawings with more complete settings and backgrounds as a way to immerse the viewer better into the scene I was trying to depict. I also started to experiment more with alcohol marker layering to achieve more texture instead of more flat forms that could've just been done digitally.
