"Autonomy?" Pt.1
"Autonomy?" Pt.1
"Autonomy?" Pt.2
"Autonomy?" Pt.2
This two-part drawing is intended as a critique to the type of 'autonomous zones' that were gaining popularity and widespread national attention during the 2020 summer protests. These posters originally contained text reading:
"Despite how they may begin, autonomous zones in the fashion of CHOP/CHAZ in Seattle end up being settler projects on already stolen land that allow for (mostly white) people to carry out their authoritarian dreams protected by their firearm fixation while ignoring and excluding Black and Indigenous people all together. These autonomous zones can never resist all influence from capitalism while existing within it. Sooner or later, these autonomous zones reproduce the same structures that they may claim to be fighting against. Abandon the autonomous zone and attack capitalism at its already crumbling legs."
